Dining Out

There are a number of fantastic restaurants close to Riverhaven where a romantic meal for two or a family night out can be enjoyed at reasonable cost.  There are also plenty of delicious cafes to grab a quick lunch or stop in to while shopping.

Just 5 minutes drive from Riverhaven is Bruno’s Italian restaurant which serves authentic Italian food 6 days a week (closed Mondays).  Bruno’s also serves many of their dishes and pizzas for takeaway for those evenings where a quiet night in is what you seek.

Carrick on Shannon is home to the infamous gastro-pub “The Oarsman” (www.theoarsman.com) which won the Good food Ireland Food Pub Of The Year in 2011, along with a number of other awards over the years.  Nearby in the small town of Jamestown “The Cottage” restaurant (cottagerestaurant.ie) overlooks the Shannon at Jamestown weir.  The cottage won the 2011 Irish Restaurant Awards (Co. Leitrim) for best restaurant and best customer service and was also featured in the Bridgestone Guide 2010 and The Georgina Campbell Guide 2009/2010.  Both restaurants offer fantastic food at competitive rates and also have ‘Early Bird’ menus.

Within a short distance drive of Riverhaven just outside the small town of Ballinafad is “Clevery Mills” restaurant.  This fine restaurant was featured in Georgina Campbell’s Restaurant Guide 2012 and serves food on Friday and Saturday evenings as well as Sunday lunch.

There are also many very good take-away restaurants locally serving quality Chinese, Thai, Indian European and Italian food which can be collected from the restaurant or delivered directly to your cabin.
