Real Irish Welcome

The West of Ireland is renowned for it’s ‘Real Irish Welcome”.  What is meant by this is unknown to many but if you have ever experienced it you will know exactly what it means!  The Burke family have been in the hospitality industry since 1967 and since this time a large portion of their business has been repeat custom.  This alone is testament to the fact that guests staying with the Burke family always enjoy their stay.  The Burke family are known to their guests as being kind, generous and most hospitable hosts and have often been told by their guests that they offer a true “Irish Welcome”.  Visitors to Riverhaven and, prior to this at Riversdale Farmhouse B&B, have always departed in high spirits, having had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.  In fact many say they don’t want to leave at all!!

The Burke family are welcoming hosts to all their guests at Riverhaven and in the spirit of a “real Irish welcome” they often contact guests en route to the accommodation to offer directions, to advise where is best to stop along the way for food or for shopping and to meet guests nearby who have not quite found their way without help!  While guests are staying at Riverhaven members of the Burke family will always be available, should help or advice be required.  Often we will not be very far away and will be happy to help in any way possible, whether this means offering advice on enjoyable shopping locations, directions for day trips, best fishing spots or fun activities to enjoy, guaranteeing you have a pleasant stay in the area.

The Burke’s are very passionate about the local area and are happy to share information with their guests.  Giving time to people is one of the greatest expressions of an Irish welcome and the Burke family are experts at this.  Similarly guests at Riverhaven will find that other local people in the area will extend a similar Irish welcome to them.  This may involve offering directions, sharing stories or simply enjoying some genuine conversation with them in the local shop or local pub.  Guests at Riverhaven love to experience the culture, traditional music and dance in the local pubs.  The fact that strangers to the area are so easily accepted into the company of the local people often creates a truly memorable experience for guests.

Guests at Riverhaven will find a welcome pack of food and timber for the fire on arrival which is always a great start to a holiday at in a self catering cottage.  The Burke family pride themselves in extending a Real Irish Welcome to all of their guests and love to see people get the most enjoyment out of their holidays together!
