Riverhaven is a great location for guests or groups who want to play some golf while on holidays.  The region in which Riverhaven is located is home to many golf courses which are both varied in difficulties and in their panoramic landscape and settings.

CARRICK ON SHANNON is the nearest golf course to Riverhaven, located  less than 10 minutes drive from the cabins.  Originally a pleasant 9 hole course, a significant redevelopment of the course took place in 2006 and the course has now been expanded to an 18 hole course which has a mix of challenging lake and riverside holes, along with the original parkland holes.  Some 12 acres of marshland were preserved and integrated into the design, creating some wonderful holes.

Facilities include 18 hole golf course, 6 bay driving range, practice and putting area, bar and restaurant, golf shop and changing facilities with lockers and buggy or trolley hire.  Green fees start at €20.00 and more information can be found at

BOYLE golf course is a pleasant 9 hole parkland golf course and is open to non members on a green fee basis throughout the year.  Situated one mile from Boyle Town on the main Roscommon road Boyle Golf Course is a 9-hole parkland course. The course consists of one par-5, eleven par-4 and six par-3 holes totalling 5,105 metres in length.  Par for the course is 67 made up 33 out and 34 in.  Only three holes have the same tee-box ensuring that every hole has a different play strategy.  Green fees start at €15 and more information can be found by contacting the club at 071-9662594

ROSSES POINT golf course, just outside Sligo town, is home to both an 18 hole Championship Links Course and a separate 9 hole Links Course.  The club is the home of the famous West of Ireland Open amateur championship played every Easter since 1923. It has hosted many other prestigious events including the Home Internationals, the Irish Close and the Irish Professional Matchplay Championship.

The 18 hole course at Rosses Point is renowned to be one of the finest golf courses in the country.  This challenging course was redesigned in 1927 by the famous golf architect Harry S. Colt.  The spectacular scenery of mountain, ocean and countryside provide a beautiful setting for a relaxing round of golf.  The 9 hole “Bomore” course is also an beautiful and challenging course in a spectacular setting.  The level of difficulty on both courses varies depending on the unique and diverse weather conditions experienced at “The Point”.

STRANDHILL golf course, also located just outside Sligo town, is home to a very pleasant and well designed 18 hole course overlooking the breathtakingly scenic Sligo bay.

The course contains 5804m of undulating fairways & unforgiving shortcuts, and it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience by all who play it.
